Ex HavildarBy: k kurup | Thursday , 26 Nov '09 7:29:38 AM Reply | Forward Sir, This is the most deplorable situation that the exsoldiers are facing. The price index have gone up beyond ones imagination. Those who retired in 80s and even before are facing very hardship for their food. When these jawans stood by the govt and people of India, why they are compelled to face such a starving death . whatr announced in the budget , Govt must translate into action. Many ex jawans may die even before the govt announce their decisions. This mail may be passed on to Smt Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister and Rahul Gandhi to take some announcements before end of this parliament session. BJP announced their support during the election, ofcourse they could not come up,still they are morally bound to support this noble cause.Jawans sacrificed their life for the nation, may theyhave a peaceful death. The serving jawans are also watching as to what the govt and people do for their predessors. Sir, These exservice men are still an asset to nation due to their disciplined life

Will Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi intervene in OROP implementationBy: ks rajan | Monday , 23 Nov '09 10:27:10 AM Reply | Forward Sir, We fail to understand that once the committee set up by GOI has approved the OROP with effect from 01/07/2009 after calculating the financial impact on the exchequer, why this red tapism? Cane farmers agitation has attracted Rahul Gandhi, why is he not bothered about we ESMs? Is there any MP in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to raise a question on this issue?. AK Antony has been preaching about OROP everywhere he has gone and now mum on the subject. Please donot pay with the sentiments of the ex-soldiers as they have done everything you have ordered in the past. Will Mr Shekar Gupta forward our concerns to the Government of India. Every MP MLA or Councillor is busy in benefitting their own cause. Let them do but honour what you have committed though the President of India and in the August House of Parliament-are we the biggest autocracy in one way of this World?

Automaic implementation of OROP with every Pay commission ReportBy: N. Ramakrishnan | Friday , 13 Nov '09 20:02:25 PM Reply | Forward Now that the Govt. have agreed to implement the OROP, effective from 1.7.2009, there need not be further delay in actual fixation of Pension and payment of arrears, as there are veterans, experts on the subject and also the use of computers. Gov. may , therefore fix a target date for completion of this work and payment thereto so that the benifits reach the ex jawans like me who have fought the three wars of 1962, 65 and 1971 and are in dire urgency for higher pension to meet various expenditures at the tail end of life span. Inabsence of the pension chart, proper comments could not be given. However, a general suggestion is that, according to the Rank and Group, whenever, the Pay/Pension commission announces new scales, these should be automatically made applicable to past pensioners whatever be the date of retirement, since the prices of commodities at any particular time is the same for every one and infact, aged men need more financial assistance. A Rule to be enacted to this e

Our media is also keeping quite. I think Government is waiting for Defence personnel to raise an issue under RTI Act.
