But once it withdrew, its opinion or the lack of it hardly matters. As the nobel laureate, Sen aptly summed up, it lost its voice. at the time of any national disaster, the Left becomes dumb-founded and withdraws into a shell i.e. Kerala and West Bengal. Almost reminiscent of Satan's lines from Paradise Lost, "better to rule in hell than serve in heaven"!
