The comments on this articles reflect the public apathy towards such acts. The politicians attitude is not reserved by one party or other. No party or politician thinks in terms of INDIA. Railways jumps track to your ' state vs mine '..................By: M Krishnamachary | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 11:39:03 AM Reply | Forward Nothing new in that most politicians favour their states and constituencies over others in planninf for new projects. One need not be surprised if the MP from Lakshadwip too wants a rail link to his constituency. Or they will not find a place in Parliament the next time. A matter of survival. Railways is all-India in reach and is divided, as the country is, into so many 'divisions'. Then for admin reasons, now for political favours. Other uses of railways is as prime target of political protest for torching and destruction. Some politicians usually attribute natural disasters like cyclones too to political adversaries!!! Present Rail budget plans extention to N-E states and it is the brightest part of the 'rail budget'. Thanks to Miss Mamta Banerji. What Ananth Kumar is doing is what all the MPs in 'opposition' do. Practise jaded politics. Your article rightly points to the usual antics of some MPs, speaking on irrelevant matters. People are not bothered much . They know it all.
Rail debate jumps track to your state vs mineBy: Hubert Pereira | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 10:58:54 AM Reply | Forward I agree that it is indeed Indian railways! Hence it is also important that INDIAN requirement is taken care unilaterally instead of any state being given priority or importance with an eye on the forthcoming elections in West Bengal. One does not need or should be allowed to use the Rail wagon to beat the communists. All that needs to be done is think India and behave like a true Indian, and it’s development for the future generations.
