He always had some differences with some or the other leader in the party.... he was never a unanimously popular leader...The worst part of his tenure was the debacle in E-2009 and worse than the worst was his explanation for the loss : " we expeted 16 more seats than 132 (of the 14th lok sabha) to make it around 150 but we were unfortunate to get 16 less and end up at 116.....

Had Advani,Rajnath and Jaitelty accepted responsibility for the election debacle and quit honourably instead stage managing their continuation on graceless excuses the BJP would have been a rejunevated party by now. Sushma has surrendered her place to cheap antics and now has no future. If now Rajnath is quitting a little before time and wants to return to UP politics he will do much good for himself and the party. Thes people think they are always right but the views of those who have sympathies for the party have much to recommend and they should listen to them. their failure to do so hasdoomed their future recovery from which will not be easy. However if the parent body survives and gains strength they will get back some respect.

Infact, Mr. Rajnath Singh and Mr. L K Advani should have taken moral responsibility for the debacle in the Lok Sabha elections and quit at that stage. This would have increased their prestige in the public eyes. But to Indian Politicians, the word RESPONSIBILTY is unknown. Rajnath Singh is a state level politician at best and should stick to state politics of Uttar Pradesh.

New leaders like Manohar Pannikar, Nitin Gadkari and others from grass roots level between age group of 35-45, of whom at least 25% should be women must come forward and prepare for future elections. Those in center should have clean image, good educational background, and no inferiority complex in them. They must have confidence in India and Indians unlike Congress%u2019s Ministers who spent more than 400 crores on foreign tours still our relations with other countries are unfriendly. PM projected should have no inclination to Oxford or should not feel grateful to UK or Italy for India%u2019s progress like our MMS. Self respect, self pride should take precedence and not puppet in hands of a person or loyalty to ex rulers that is UK.
