Rampant Anand set to take titleBy: S G Prabhu | Thursday , 23 Oct '08 12:32:51 PM Reply | Forward What a great run of success Anand is enjoying at the highest level of chess! I am sure Anand will try to further increase his lead and will not leave a slightest of chance for Kramnik to come back in the remaining games ot the title match. I remember the world title match between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spasly in which Fischer lost first game and did not appear to play the second game, thus Spasky was up 2 points at the end of the second game itself. But there after Fischer equalised quickly and went on to win the match and the world championship title. But that was Fischer and Kramnik is no Fischer. I am sure Anand will go on to win the match to retain the world chess chapionship title.
Great GoingBy: Joshi P | Thursday , 23 Oct '08 10:56:07 AM Reply | Forward Its a shame for the Indian media that such a great ocassion does not find even a small mention. All these days I had to keep searching the papers and the news channels to find the status of each ongoing match. Indians are only obsessed with cricket and even Indian Express's sports tab didn't had these news for quite some time
Vishy Anand's conquestBy: sanjay kadambar | Thursday , 23 Oct '08 9:48:37 AM Reply | Forward It is unforunate that we the indian public and the media are not applauding a genuine world champion amongst us i.e the genius Vishy Anand who has settled into a cruise mode and looks like romping home in style by crushing the hapless kramnik. Instead, we focus more than what is due on cricket and ignore other sporting activities. No wonder a nation of 1000 million , ends up with only 3 medals in olympics. It seems we are destined for mediocrity.
