Remember, don’t forget

This is the week of big anniversaries, two decades of Tiananmen, 25 years of Operation Bluestar. But staying closer home, it is chastening now to remember what a tough year 1984 had been for India, arguably the most challenging in our history since we became a republic. Operation Bluestar resul  ....Read more

The Pains of Contemporary Period of People especially the Sikhs in India By: Balbir Singh Sooch, Ludhiana | Sunday , 14 Jun '09 15:50:49 PM Reply | Forward The pains of the contemporary period of people explained in one of the history books titled ‘The Bleeding limbs of the Sikhs’ read and is like the modern-day shameful history of people especially Sikhs, that impels to forget cruelty meted out to them in the past since they stand cheated out now more badly without any justice in sight for them ‘Maharaja Dalip Singh like cheated out’ at the hands of aliens in the history. It depicted the pains, the killings, the disappearances and the stories of persons especially the Sikhs, to keep them alive in history, in face of cheaters within and outside the Sikh community. The Operation Blue Star is to remain unforgettable like inflicted pains being part of the history in so named independent India. It unfolds untold unbearable sufferings of the Sikhs but questions the history of protecting the religion or the politics of religion only to teach a lesson to them in all respects, in a fraudulent way. Balbir Singh Sooch, Advocate- Sikh Vichar Manch

Verdict 2009 and 1984By: anand desai | Saturday , 6 Jun '09 20:07:34 PM Reply | Forward the congress when it comes to power allows the bureaucrats to earn money, the aam aadmi is always the looser, pakistan becomes belligerrent and militancy increase? see the past years and you wuold ealsie the above, the people should come over caste and looks to vote for the right people, tell me how is nuclear power going to be cheap, people like ambanis will make money and we shall pay more for electricity etc., so the amm aadmi always looses out when congress comes to power, there is going to be hard lesson to learn for the people of india in the next five years. I also agree with Anil above, if the Left was not allowing the congress to work for the benefit of the people they should ahve resigned like vajpayee and advani did after the jayalaitha fiasco in 1996? so people of india be prepared for a breaking of your hearts and pockets as taxes are going to rise due to unaccounted sops to people in the last 5 years? chidambaram has crucified us the aam admi?
Have you seen denial of bail to any criminal leader in our country?By: Rathi Ram Doodwala | Saturday , 6 Jun '09 18:32:59 PM Reply | Forward There is no doubt that persons like bhindrawala, osama-bin-laden, modi or those involved in the 84 riots should be brought to justice. Many innocent people have suffered in the hands of terrorist like leaders which have so far not been taken to task. Ashok Singhal, Giri Raj Kishore, Advani and many others are also roaming freely as if nothing has happened. There seems to be one constitution for the people another for leaders.
Verdict 2009By: Anil | Saturday , 6 Jun '09 17:29:18 PM Reply | Forward The people of India are fool. They have opted for a louse government. They will definitely be disappointed from it and will repent like they are doing since last 50 years. The same government was in office since last five years. What did they do; absolutely NOTHING. They can not escape from their duties. Shekhar Gupta can not say that they were in coalition with Left or other parties and hence could not do the desired development work – it is an absurd argument. If they did not develop the country better they should have quit. What were the achievements of the last government – NONE. If people or some journalist is having expectations from this Govt., they are living in fool’s paradise. Congress Govts are one of the MOST corrupt and in efficient Govts. our country has. In my opinion, most of the people of India are congresses by nature. They are greedy and want free bees from successive congress Govts. As a result they simply vote for congress despite the fact that there is NO credible leader exists in congress party.
CONgressBy: Chanakya Canada | Saturday , 6 Jun '09 9:48:01 AM Reply | Forward Overall good article, however, the author forgets the role of media, specially Indian Express of 1989 in creating public awareness. Today, do we have a unbiased media? TOI, NDtv, CNN-ibn, Times Now will work 24 x 7 for CONgress in return for advertisement money and Pudmashree!
Rajiv Gandhi/Arun Nehru massacred Sikhs in 1984By: Teg Singh | Saturday , 6 Jun '09 8:59:08 AM Reply | Forward Shekhar Gupta's contention that the violence against Sikhs in New Delhi and rest of India was retaliatory is completely misleading. The massacre of Sikhs after the killing of Indira Gandhi was ordered by Rajiv Gandhi. It was Arun Nehru sitting in PM's house who directed the entire Government and party machinery and was the real enforcers and responsible for mass murder of tens of thousands of innocent Sikhs. Sikhs wil NEVER EVER forget that the entire Hindu establishment including the media participated in the genocide of the Sikhs and that they must free themselves from the chains of slavery.
warning at a right timeBy: Ravi | Saturday , 6 Jun '09 7:59:57 AM Reply | Forward very good article, warning the PM and his party at the right time.people who have opted congress this time have done so for a change. A change from petty politics and retrogressive thinking. They expect Manmohan singh and his governament to be means to bring the change to fulfill their aspirations. If the govt fails to read this only thing they can be sure of will be " a free fall".
