Families destroyerBy: Praveen | Tuesday , 26 May '09 3:00:26 AM Reply | Forward I am very very happy that she lost the elections. I used to prey god many times, that she must lost her elections. She is a destroyer of many many families and innocent persons with the laws like DV act. I didn't find any difference between terrorist and the persons who make laws that has no provisions to protect innocent persons from being abused. I didn't still understood Why Indian express thinks DV act as high point. The author will understands it only if he goes through abuse of that law.
PWDVA was the lowest pointBy: ps | Saturday , 23 May '09 12:10:07 PM Reply | Forward A biased law as PWDVA, 2006 was the lowest point for the WCD ministry and Indian law makers who didn't care to read it. The law is so wide in its ambit and so vaguely worded that unscrupulous lawyers and women are having a field day in the courts. Throwing out old parents (who built their house with their hard earnings) from their own homes. Asking for interim maintenance, sending husbands to jail on cooked up charges is so common.Soli Sorabjee has criticized the law as badly written and yet Indian Express is calling it a high point?Basic empowerment comes from education, health and nutrition. As long as Indian Govt provides that to its children, they don't need such a mockery of laws.
