UPA uncontested tryumph in MumbaiBy: T.P. Viswanathan | Saturday , 23 May '09 3:45:19 AM Reply | Forward Mumbai congress has funds to fight another three general elections (if not more). Raghavan Sarathi and his cronies have amassed enought by looting a co-op. Bank in Mumbai. Ekanath Thakur of Saraswat Bank had enough masala to embarass city congess, but he chose not to. What reason?? Criminal cases are penidng against Sarathi, his colleage Udayar, his CEO Mr. Sukthankar and one of the biggest defaulters of South Indian Co-operative Bank Mr. Girijashankar Pandey (of Kamal Towing fame). Anyone to bell the cat to expedite the cases? When even RBI keeps quiet, what else can the common man do!!
Identity Politics By: Marathi Manoos | Thursday , 21 May '09 5:04:40 AM Reply | Forward --SiddharthIndian States were carved out on Linguistic grounds by Indian politicians. Identity Politics i.e based on Caste, Ethnicity etc etc has been played out only since the Late 1970's So why are you dragging the British into it? they have Left the country 65 years back. which should be enough time to put our house in order... unfortunately that has not happened :-(
Now Mumbaikars and Marathis show to the world that when it comes to nation, they are Indian first!By: Siddharth | Wednesday , 20 May '09 22:48:17 PM Reply | Forward The recent showdown of the Sena-BJP alliance in the elections only points to one thing. We are all Marathis, Gujratis, Bengalis, Tamil , Telegu... everything, but first, we are Indians. Better late than never: we have learnt from our mistakes, and have grown mature. For instance, even after so poor governance of the Congress in the state, even after their poor security measures, we voted for them, because we are pissed off with hate politics. Biharis, Marathis and North Indians, are Indians first. The Brits taught our politicians 'divide and rule'. But I'm happy that we showed the policy down n down and down. This is a message to all the politicians - we stand united, No to 'divide and rule', Yes to 'real work'. Its time we evaluate you politicians based on the work you have done rather than the number of hate speeches you have given, and riots you have instrumented! India had decided. Jai Hind.
