‘Shivraj Thackeray’: MP CM says don’t need Bihari labourers, backs off after outrage

Bhopal/Patna: The BJP’s Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan echoed Raj Thackeray this week, telling a crowd in Satna that he would not allow “Biharis” to usurp jobs in the area. “Karkhana lagega Satna mein aur naukri karne aayenge Bihar se, ye hum honey nahin denge,” (Factories will be set up  ....Read more

IndiaBy: Bhanu | Tuesday , 10 Nov '09 0:35:23 AM Reply | Forward Well let you know that, national average income for each Indian is $1100. The bihar is $ 150 so its difference and its huge. Who is responsible for this probably politicians of bihar and UP. I don't blame people of bihar and UP. Its high time people of these states reject lalu, paswan, mayawati and mulayam. Nitish is doing good work and I hope these states will improve in future.
Let there be love and lightBy: Sunit Love | Monday , 9 Nov '09 6:06:33 AM Reply | Forward Thank you to all the politicians for humiliating the state. I heard someone got scared so what makes you scared. If you really love your country i challenge you to join army. Remember it may echo back and then don't blame each of yourself. Stop doing dog fight. Decrease population. Stop reservations on any basis let there be a share for intelligence rather than quotas. Don't decrease opportunity cost of other people GOD SAVE ME FROM MY REELECTION I NEED PERFECTION. Think Big. Spread love. God may force you to take good action.
Shame on BJPBy: rajiv | Sunday , 8 Nov '09 17:49:00 PM Reply | Forward This is copleteley uncontituitional remark by a CM. BJP should immediately remove this CM.Us, the people of India should teach a lesson to people like Chauhan /Thackrey etc., and the party supporting them.
BiharBy: Sanjay | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 19:13:19 PM Reply | Forward The rich Indian states are no better than some of the poorest African and central American countries when compared by GDP. The pooer Indian states like Bihar have an even worse human index record. Non Biharis shouldnt get too pumped up on their supposed development, when they are amongest the dirt poor of the world. As for law and order in India, the less said the better. Biharis are murdered, Muslims and dalits are murdered. Caste kills caste and the country also has a naxal civil war. Madhya Pradesh is known to have some of the poorest districts and regions in India. Only Bhopal and the west near Gujarat has some sort of decent standard of living. The CM of MP would do better in helping those poor souls than picking on other desperate poor souls of Bihar and UP. Nothing happens in India if Biharis and UP'its are not involved. the rest of the countrys is either lazy or violent. Which is the lie that is labelled against Biharis and UP'its
The problems with BIHAR By: Arun | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 13:24:07 PM Reply | Forward The problem with Bihar and UP is people like Laoo, Pswan, Mulayam and Mayawati. The reason why people do not like Biharis is because they have stopped making people like Rajendra Babu and Jayprakash. There is no hatred for Bihar even in Maharashtra. Otherwise tell me how is it that a Rahul Saxena is so loved by SA Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi audience. We all want Biharis to come and prosper anywhere and everywhere in India but not the variety of Mulayam, Laloo, Abu Azmi, Paswan and Mayawati. Also if these Biharis are so fond of living their own state then let them also leave their state identity at home.
Telengana Movement is eight in in Andhra Pradesh!By: Murtuza Moosavi | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 13:21:26 PM Reply | Forward Telegana movement in AP is right all the Andhra should be sent back from Hyd. If Raj & Shijraj Thackeray is right! It is shame for BJP one tone they talk about Bharat mahan and other side they dont like low cast and other states. Where is Bharat Akhand? What about Ram? This is all bullshit of BJP, RSS & Shijsena.... Jai Hind... Murtuza Moosvi
Does CM read Constitution Of IndiaBy: Naim Naqvi | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 12:42:18 PM Reply | Forward The doublespeak of the BJP has come full circle. It has plumbed a new low in the politics of somersaults, contradiction and shifting sands. The party, whose principal plank was AKAHAND BHARAT had stooped low before MARATHI MANUS reservation agenda of Shiva Sena and now listen a clarion call, a latest diatribe by Shivraj Singh Chouhan - the roar of Lion Of Madhya Pradesh at Satna, %u201CHe would not allow %u201CBiharis%u201D to usurp jobs in the area. Karkhana lagega Satna mein aur naukri karne aayenge Bihar se, ye hum honey nahin denge. (Factories will be set up in Satna, but people from Bihar will get jobs in them, I won%u2019t allow this) .The chief minister said he had asked factories to employ local people. %u201CThey will have to train local youths and employ them%u201D. Article 16 says: Equality of opportunity in matters of public employment (1) There shall be equality of opportunity for all citizens in matters relating to employment or appointment to any office under the State. Does he ever read it?
Does CM read-----By: romesh.sharma | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 14:52:54 PM Reply | Forward Mr.Naqvi, your introspection and self-analysis are not atall congenial to the topic though most of the times you try your best to impress the readers with verbiage.Do you know BJP is a political Party and there is no poltical Party and a politician who won't use what you call Double-Speak.This is part of politics and diplomacy. What one has to care is the impact of such speaks on the people and the nation.Inconsistency is no necessary condemnation of a politician or of a party. There are times when most crucial problems/measures are advocated and the same are strennously resisted the next time.Changed circumstances, party strategy and indivisualinterests contribute to such mutations.Sudden reversals do have negative effect on moral-weights but if meant sincere for good and can be justified no one should dispute the integrity of the motives. The thought and desire behind Akhand Bharat was/is not what is being exaggeratedly propagated, which is merely meant to unite the people of existing Nation-Bharat.The internal uncontrolled/unplanned/undesired migration is a reason of hinderence of Nation's prosperity and shockingly filthy infrastructure.Pushing/encouring the people to greener pastures like animal is no solution but it the state Govts to improve job opportunities and other facilities for poor and needy within own regions where thy will feel more comfortable and achieve some happiness. Moreover the respionsible(irresponsibly)politicians of biharUP or other states remain inert and enjoy the luxuries of idleness for they don't have to do/care much.Naturally its the locals who have first rights to be employed/engaged.States like Maharashtra,Punjab,Assam,Karnatka are worst effected demographically and financially;and ofcourse low level crimes because of this inter-state migration.True,Equality of opportunity in matter of-----but if its so why muslims and othr socalled minorities are yammering for Reservations and special treatments!Reading or knowing Constitution is not all but practising it truely/sincerely is important.Constitutions are nothing but a book or document in which a system of fundamental Laws and principles are layed/written or recorded. This has always a space for changes/reforms or amendments.Indian Constitution needs immidiate reform for its no more compatible to the existing times/circumstances the country is going through. Its BJP/RSS main agenda/policy.They wish to see all equal Indians first before religions.I know you are anti-BJP/RSS and your tactfull and refined comments do leave a tinge of antipathy against not only BJP but Hindus, which is not for everyone to realize.
Shameless OpprutnistsBy: southindian | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 18:02:12 PM Reply | Forward RSS was dividing hindus and Muslims now it is dividing Hindus vs Hindus. Shame on You RSS moroons
Not having a clue----By: romesh.sharma | Sunday , 8 Nov '09 13:00:33 PM Reply | Forward You fool RSS is doing best to unite Muslims, hindus and all communities under one banner of nationalism. All citizens are Indians(Bhartiya)and Equal(no reservations or special treatment based on religion, caste or creed). You and your sort are sod-Indians for they feel to be different than the main stream calling south-Indian.
It is intentional mischief by IEBy: Boby Mehta | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 12:40:51 PM Reply | Forward Indian Express is posting only very selected emails, mainly, from Muslims and their postings are, naturally, anti-Hindu and anti-BJP. The fact is it is Indian media which is responsible for the down fall of India. Media has always ignored the most provocative and anti-Hindu statements by Congress, mainly Congress PMs, like "Muslims have the first claim...", "Ram didn't exist", "when a tree falls...." etc. This trivia reported by IE is so pathetic that no newspaper would have given second thought, it is because some bye elections are going on and it is the effort of media to compell Biharis to vote Congress and Muslims to wrench their Islamic intestines. Every abusive email from Muslims get priority. IE did not post my email because I mentioned how a Congress CM of Karnataka had told me to go north, south is not for north Indians. This news in IE is deffinitely to create mischief.
Son of soil make growth of every state in indiaBy: M.N.Jan | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 12:14:05 PM Reply | Forward MP CM speech is correct. We must give a Preference for son of soils then only every state will be devloping then make india is a developed country. For example Kerala state did not have a lot of industries because of old communist policy. So those people from kerala finding jobs from neighbour states & over seas.We should not ignore Mr.Raj thackery comments on son of soils but mean while we dont have rights to beat other state people. We must develop infrastructure of every state in the county then our country develop automatically.
You have no idea !!By: Ravi | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 13:26:45 PM Reply | Forward You seem to have no idea about the state of affairs in Kerala. Do you know how many labourers from Bihar, UP, Rajasthan, TN etc work in Kerala at present? Agreed Kerala is not much industrialised but the large number of Keralites who are employed in the US, Middle East etc are sending large amounts and this has created a job market for poor people from other states. Keralites always welcome these labourers. But the only side effect is that recently lots of thieves and robbers come from other states, which created a security problem in the state.

Bihari's have ruined BombayBy: Asif Rizvi | Saturday , 7 Nov '09 12:10:39 PM Reply | Forward Whats wrong in what the CM says?? Should'nt the locals be given preference over the resources in that land rather than have outsiders come and create a burden on the existing system. Look at Bombay - the bihari & UP population that drives 90% of taxi and rickshaws have screwed up the traffic- they dont obey rules, double park on roads, and 95% of their meters are doctored!! the fine driving sense that once existed in Bombay has gone to the docs...
