Mangalore, September 16: : The situation continued to remain tense but under control in the troubled areas of Mangalore where violence erupted after attacks on churches and prayer halls by suspected Hindu activists, police said on Tuesday. A bandh called by 'Sriram Sena' to protest stabbing of one of its activists on Mon  ....Read more

Christianity in IndiaBy: Kodimiran Iqbal | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 17:12:11 PM Reply | Forward Part 1:( 1 ) Communal riots, butchery, slaughter, persecution, setting fires to the huts of the innocent and poor who have absolutely no share in the communal politics, real vandalism, horrendous atrocities mostly against the minorities in Orissa make Indians put their heads in Shame and spoil the good image of secular India. Will we ever change, trying to forget the past and will we ever become more tolerant? Religious preachers and radicals and fanatics should stop denigrating and demonizing other religions. Arrest and punish the real terrorists to whichever denomination they belong to without pity or favour and execute them within a few weeks by setting up special courts. Do not allow politicians to poke their dirty noses into the process of execution of law and order. Justice delayed is justice denied. Usually a Govt. Commission is set up after the riots. The Commission takes a decade to finalize their report and the Govt takes another decade to enforce it.
Christianity in IndiaBy: Kodimiran Iqbal | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 17:10:16 PM Reply | Forward Part 2( 2 ) Incidentally, IS IT NOT A JOKE THAT LIBERHAN COMMISSION SET UP TO INVESTIGATE THE FANATICALLY INSTIGATED TERRORIST DOMOLITION OF BABRI MASJID ON 16TH DECEMBER 1992. GOT THEIR 46TH EXTENSION AND THE WORK IS NOT COMPLETE YET AFTER 16 YEARS? This is part of our proud social justice of India. The delayed justice leads to more violence, more terrorist attacks on soft civilian targets and more personal revenge killings as we had witnessed in Orissa, Gujarat, Bombay and UP in particular but through out India in general.Make use of the army to guarantee security of life and property and bring in law and order.
BABRI MASJIDBy: N.V.SANKARAN | Sunday , 1 Feb '09 12:37:42 PM Reply | Forward The first terrorist was Babur who destroyed the Ram temple at Ayodhya and built the infamous Babri Masjid at the same site. Whether you like it or not, whether you accept it or not, it is a fact that for all the religious minded Hindus, Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi are places as sacred as Mecca
Christianity in IndiaBy: Kodimiran Iqbal | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 17:08:43 PM Reply | Forward Part 3( 3 ) I am not confirming or denying the following, however I want the more knowledgeable IE editors to come forward and shed more light on these. What causes religious riots and communal violence is an unanswered question in India in particular and in many other parts of the world in general. Religious leaders should come forward to apologize and sincerely regret the persecutions of their co-religionists that had happened in the past and come forward to forget and forgive. In the case of Indian Christianity, the following questions are pertinent.( a ) Were the Hindus forced to convert after the arrival of Vasco da Gama in 1498? What happened to Zamorin, the Hindu leader, when he met Vasco da Gama? Why was the proposed celebration for the 500th Anniversary of Vasco da Gama’s arrival in India was stopped in India in 1998- bringing together a remarkably surprising alliance of Hindus, Muslims, leftwing campaigners and environmentalists? Christianity in IndiaBy: Kodimiran Iqbal | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 17:07:03 PM Reply | Forward Part 4( b ) Francis Xavier, a Jesuit priest came to India after Vasco da Gama. Did he come with a firm resolve of uprooting Hinduism? Read Paul William Robert’s ‘EMPIRE OF THE SOUL: SOME JOURNEYS IN INDIA”.Did Francis Xavier call for an Inquisition recorded by some historians as being more horrendous and barbaric than any prior to that? Despite this, how true is the fact that St. Francis Xavier is still worshipped, prayed and honored as the pure representative of Jesus Christ by Indian Christians? Did the Inquisition in Goa come to a stop only after the British intervention in 1812? Read the Book: “HISTORY OF HINDU, CHRISTIAN ENCOUNTERS” By Sita Ram Goel.( c ) Is it true that the Goans were subject to diabolical tortures : by the Christians, in tens of thousands? Is it true that the Gaur Sarasvata Brahmins fled Goa fleeing the torture of the invading fanatics? If there are truths in these contentions let the descendents of the culprits come forward to ask for forgiveness
Christianity in IndiaBy: Kodimiran Iqbal | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 17:02:41 PM Reply | Forward Part 5.( d ) Of course, now the Christian programmes have changed. Now they have the financial resources ( billions of US Dollars generously contributed by the Catholic Churches and US Evangelists ) to spread their religion in the guise of helping the downtrodden, sick and helpless. In reality the real intentions are dubious.( e ) There is no need to abuse, attack or condemn any religion as long as they do not use lies, falsehood, bribe and hypocrisy. The social improvement is a camouflage, but at the same time, this sort of work alleviating the poverty of the really poor and low caste Hindus and the tribes should be taken over by the rich and high caste Hindus and other Hindu Charity groups to prevent unconvincing conversions. Naturally, the real and starving people will go to any extent ( conversion of religions or even prostitution ) to survive and feed their starving children.
Interpret Religious Books WiselyBy: Kodimiran Iqbal | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 15:05:06 PM Reply | Forward For the benefit of my Hindu brothers who attack the Quran senselessly, let me quote a few verses from the Bible to show that if taken out of context, Bible is the greatest TERRORIST MANUAL IN THE WORLD. BUT IT IS NOT SO. Deuteronomy 20 Verses 10-17. 13: When the Lord your God has delivered it into your hands, you will strike every male of it with the edge of the sword…14. But the women and the little ones, and the cattle and all that is in the city, all the spoil of it, you shall take to yourself. And you shall eat the spoils of your enemies, which Lord your God has given you. YOU SHALL SAVE NOTHING THAT BREATHS. 17 But you shall utterly destroy them : the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Will anyone in his right sense accept if a crazy Muslim says that American troops are strictly carrying out the teachings of Bible in Iraq and Afghanistan as given in Deuteronomy 20 Verses 10-17?

Colleges, conversions and communalismBy: pradeep | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 11:25:03 AM Reply | Forward I have noticed a recurring theme about how "christian" colleges are discriminatory against non-christians. Why do the same authors not talk about the amount of non-christians that have been educated at chrisitian insitutions throughout India or have been healed at "christian" hospitals. Any college that is private has its own guidelines for making their decisions, they are financed by donations and can make their own decisions. Same goes for conversions, anyone should have the right to convert to any religion, as long as they are not being forced, financial incentives, sexual gratification, spiritual satisfaction are all factors that people can use. No one is preventing any religion from starting their own hospitals, schools etc. Any taxpayer funded institution has to service all taxpayers without descrimination.None of the above is any reason to even allow the possibility of mob behavior, where people can attack innocent people, destroy property.
Baseless allegationsBy: sushil | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 11:24:48 AM Reply | Forward This is nothing but false propaganda by the Baja Rang Dal. They theselves print these incriminatory documents to instigate the sentiments of peace loving Hindus. This is their game plan to wipe out christians which will never happen. Christians are peace loving people and will never indulge in these kind of cheap things. The best way is to deal with this is to give it to CBI or any investaigation agency which our friend feels will bring out the truth. Do not just go by what the criminals blabur.
What the Secul;ar English media chose to ignoreBy: NRI | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 14:58:20 PM Reply | Forward /2008/09/denigration-of-hindu-gods-reason-for-christian-attack/ As usual the secular Indian English Media and SEcular thughs and goons have presented a distorted version of Hindu-Christian clashes in Mangalore. Here are the facts 1. The Following are the list of abuses from one such book – Satya Darshini – distributed by the missionaries of New Life. This book is in Kannada and the translation of the abusive passage is as follows. o Urvashi – the daughter of Lord Vishnu – is a prostitute. Vashitha is the son of this prostitute. He in turn married his own Mother. Such a degraded person is the Guru of the Hindu God Rama. (page 48) o When Krishna himself is wallowing in darkness of hell, how can he enlighten others? Since Krishna himself is a shady character, there is a need for us to liberate his misled followers. (page 50)• o It was Brahma himself who kidnapped Sita. Since Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva were themselves the victims of lust, it is a sin to consider them as Gods. (page 39) o When the Trinity of Hinduism (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) are consumed by lust and anger, how can they liberate others. Their projection as Gods is nothing but a joke. (page 39). o When Vishnu asked Brahma to commit a sin, he immediately did so. How can such a "evil brahma" be a Creator of this Universe? How is it possible for both the sinner and the entity which provoked the sin to be gods? (page 39) o God, please liberate the sinful people of India who are worshipping False Gods that believe in the pleasures of illicit 'Vyabichari' relationships. (Page 39). 1. All the 16 incidents that took place were not attack on Churches. In fact, unauthorized prayer halls were attacked where the blasphemous pamphlets were distributed and aggressive proselytisation was taking place. These 16 incidents were not localized but took place across three districts of Mangalore, Udupi and Chikmagalur. 2. The only place where attacks took place apart from New Life Prayer Halls was at a small prayer hall in the premises of Milagres Church in Mangalore, where some miscreants had damaged a Jesus idol. The VHP and the Bajrang Dal have condemned the attack at this place. Following this incident, a Christian mob gathered and the situation went out of control as the mob started pelting stones and disrupting traffic. The police was forced to intervene and this resulted in unsavoury violence. 3. Since the past two days, it is not Hindu-Christian clashes that are taking place. In fact, it is more appropriate to call it"Christian-Police" clashes since the Christians holed up in Churches have engaged themselves in pelting of stones and disruption of traffic. The Police were forced to enter the Church to clear the mob and they found arms inside the Church. 4. Incidents of Stabbing were reported in around four or five places across Mangalore district. In fact, an activist belonging to Shri Ram Sena was stabbed which led to a bandh call by Shri Ram Sena – a Hindu outfit that is not connected to Sangh Parivar. 5. The VHP and the Bajrang Dal have condemned the desecration of Jesus idol at the prayer hall adjacent to the Milagres Church in Mangalore. They have also clarified that they are not against the Catholic faith and the Churches. However, they have clarified that the public outcry would continue as long as illicit conversion activities and blasphemy of Hindu gods take place. 6. Even the Kandhmahal murder — which involved the killing of Hindu monk Swami Lakshmananda by missionaries – seems to have caste a shadow on this incident since the general public seems to have seen through Christian aggression. 7. It may be recalled that there was a public outcry against illegal prayer halls in Davanagere district last week. In that case, the administration had closed the unauthorized prayer halls that were mushrooming in the region.
Mangalore riotsBy: laxmi | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 11:13:07 AM Reply | Forward The christian organisation/church which circulated the provocative booklet , attacking the hindu gods , should be booked and punished. When a Swedish magazine published a cartoon on Prophet Mohammad , the entire media criticised it and following worldwide violence, the editor of that magzine had to resign. Unfortunately, no national newspaper in India ha so far flayed this provoactive leaflet published by a pro-coversion christian organisation. also, the foreign funds flow to christian church should be monitored and its end use should be revealed. this will stop the bitterness between the communities.Laxmi

CITIZENS OUTRAGED SEEING THE PICTURE OF A LONE CIVILIAN MERCILESSLY BEING BEATEN BY A GANG OF LATHI-WIELDING POLICEMEN By: SUBHASH SAMPAT | Wednesday , 17 Sep '08 11:24:58 AM Reply | Forward The maiming and hospitalisation or killing and death of any human being, participant or a bystander, innocent or guilty, in any riot or agitation makes me profoundly sad. Indian agitations, as I have seen them, are the bloodiest in the world. I have seen them happen, could smell the pungency of death, tasted the salt in my mouth, brushed shoulders with them and stared at them full face, just as I have seen them on the battered faces of those who have been hit by the police. The sight of such beatings and the taste of blood revolts me. It fills me with maniacal hatred for the police and those in authority, something which make me understand why oppressed peoples go on a murder rampage after a successful revolution. Countless innocent people have died in lathi-charges in countless crowd control happenings in our country over the years. They have been paralysed for months and years and laid down their lives without question or even a promise for a better tomorrow for their children and thousands of women have been widowed and children orphaned. And since thousands have been maimed, hospitalised or have died in lathi-charges, the use of lethal lathis for crowd control requires serious questioning. Aren’t there any other methods of controlling the crowds? There are. Since there is at least one such adventure by the police every other week in our country and sometime several in a given week, an answer to this question is urgent.
