Carrot By: Nazeer Ataullah | Sunday , 15 Nov '09 11:27:16 AM Reply | Forward Genrally accidents takes place due to human faults such as unattentiveness, laziness etc. The disappearing of Laloo's fear could be a reason for employee's slackness. Time to review and correct our system instead blaming each other. What is required is carrot and stick approach.
Laloo and Railway Accidents.By: P.H.Bhanage | Sunday , 15 Nov '09 2:50:45 AM Reply | Forward There may be some truth in what Adab says.Mismanagement/alleged profit made by Railways during Laloo regime may be responsible for present spate of accidents.I happened to discuss the issue with a very highly placed, recently retired railway official, from technical wing who feared that practices followed by Laloo like increase in Axle Weight could lead to long term safety issues. This however does not mean we can tolerate mismanagement, due to neglect,by Madam Mamta. This really underlines the need to have Technocrats at the helm of certain departments like Railways/Civil Aviation/Road Building(like Khanduri of NDA)etc.
cost cuts result in accidents By: rajneesh sharma | Saturday , 14 Nov '09 20:17:15 PM Reply | Forward It is the direct result of cost cuts i.e. poor manitenance, cheap materials. yes it does increase profits which did happen under the tenure of last rm lalu. I work in the railway in uk so I know from my experience that cheap materials and poor maintenance are the reasons for accidents and the outcome takes some time usually 2 to 3 years. Thats why you people are seeing the accidents on the railway now and you will see more in near future unless a huge investment is done and full safety and maintenance checks are carried out at with utmost priority. This is the action current RM can take and save lives.
It's not the fault of railway ministers, It's the whole bloddy rigid system that is responsibleBy: Vishal Srivastav | Saturday , 14 Nov '09 20:13:04 PM Reply | Forward Well, everyone knows and compares rail accidents as the faults of the rail ministers at the same time why don't u think that the ministers don't go to repair the tracks, it's the employees that go to repair and if they perform their duties up to the marks and off course get properly supervised then these brainless and idiot politicians won't even have to be given importance accept the financial issues.........god bless the souls of the innocent people.
What are the professional responsibilities of CBI ?By: Devji kumar | Saturday , 14 Nov '09 16:34:58 PM Reply | Forward It appears that Mrs B has more than enough on her hands, so the alternatives are either W Bengal position or Railway minister but not both and not at same time, because the lives of the nation's railway passengers are as valuable as the citizens of W. Bengal. The other point is the previous Railway Minister, Mr L. and his chamchas should be investigated for sabotage and endangering lives of the railway passengers. Its obvious that Mr L wants to shine in the tragic events by claiming that the previous RM did a better job than the present PM, without taking into account the working and living conditions in the state of Bihar. What are the professional responsibilities of CBI ? What independent investigations does the organisation carry out ? Has CBI checked the swiss account, assets and property owned directly and indirectly by Mr L. in and outside on India ?
Mind boggles.By: YD | Saturday , 14 Nov '09 16:19:04 PM Reply | Forward Since Mamata has bee n appointed as Railway Minister, hardly a week goes by without a major accident. All we are waiting when Bandits will start again robbing trains. Amazing it stopped when Laloo was RM and started again when he is not.
not a fault of didi completelyBy: Adab | Saturday , 14 Nov '09 15:55:50 PM Reply | Forward For the last 5 years lalu yadav was managing railways. The damage has occurred then itself.Look at the quality and security in the railways.I found insects and cockroaches in 2nd AC. And the food quality need not be mentioned. Similar damage has occurred to maintainence, this is how profit was made. Now all these accidents are a result of the damage over 5 years. So why blame didi alone???????
Alarming Regularity Of Railway Accidents.By: P.H.Bhanage | Saturday , 14 Nov '09 15:38:26 PM Reply | Forward Mamata Banerji was adamant for getting Railway Ministry. However;after witnessing alarming regularity of Railway accidents and the callous attitude of the madam (not Sonia this time )the Prime Minister needs to show her the door immediately.Even P.M. appears to be helpless (of course he does not like anybody terming him to be that.We all seen how he has felt when Mr. Advani called him that) but that is a sad truth.Madam is preoccupied with Bengal politics and has no time to look after the Railways. That way even other ministers are also not accountable in INDIA however they do not at least handle departments where human life is at stake. Present regime is not at all sensitive to plight of the people and coupled with that there is practically total absence of opposition party, and also terribly partisan electronic/print media. For them it matters only if the story has 'Breaking News'element in it. They behave as if they have heard nothing(wrong)seen nothing(wrong) hence won't say anything.
