Unfortunately, there has been little evidence of India striking back in any meaningful manner-militrarily or economically. In fact, Pakistan has managed to outwit India by presenting itself as a victim of terror while nourishing it through its intelligence agancies. India will have to find ways and means to hurt Pakistan so that it desists from causing further trouble. Looking upto US is pointless since Americans themselves have been taken for a ride by the deceitful Pakistais who breed terror and then ask for aid ostensibly to fight it. Frankly, India has given little inkling of what it is capable of doing to check its hostile neighbour.

The heads of various branches of our forces continue to claim their preparedness for any eventuality but fact remains they always grapple in the dark trying to find fault with others. This is what happens when political bosses meddle with postings and promotions. Immediately action needs to be taken to equip the forces with latest communication gadgets, weapons, vehicles and training coupled with regular refresher courses. The remuneration and perks must take a revision so that they are able to lead a decent life. The compensation paid for those who died in action is an insult because the government is willing to pay in crores for the overpaid cricketers. It is also necessary that all highschool students be compulsorily enrolled in scounts or NCC to create some discipline. And to to become a MLA/MP a minimum of 5 years military service than goondagiri.

And Americans have time and again proved themselves to be not very wise so far as understanding the situation in the region is concerned. Even today they are reluctant to come out openly to side with India, even though they know who is behind the Mumbai terror attack. In this situation India does not seem to have any choice but to confront Pakistan militarily. And those who are scaring India by citing Pakistan's possession of nuclear weapons are helping Pakistan blackmail India. Didn't Krishna advise Arjuna to fight the war even though it resulted in lakhs of deaths, when he was left with no choice after failing in his best efforts to convince Duryodhana to agree for an honorable settlement.

childish solutionsBy: poovannan | Saturday , 6 Dec '08 22:52:01 PM Reply | Forward the response given by suggesting that take over nuclear weapons,link water supply etc are childish but unfortunately the shouting jingoistic class is repeating it endlessly.it is like asking india to bowl last 20overs as maidens when the opponent team needs 2 runs to win in 20 overs.the unprecedented media coverage till rajasthan elections was justified as the upper caste dominated media may like bjp but the continuing comedy of maintaining pressure by chat shows and candles make one feel that media editors are following southern cine stars in dreaming of political future.hundreds of people died in tamilnadu due to floods which was criminally ignored.terrorism is going to be like foolds,earthquake etc and it is better one gets used to it than giving comical solutions.we have to be equally prepared to prevent deaths due to infectious diseases,floods terrorist attacks etc and not concentrate only on terrorist attacks and ignore all other ills(we lost more people to stampede than terrorist attacks in the past 2 yrs)
