We are surrounded by notorious neighbours and these are increasing in number. Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Srilanka are funded openly by our old foes. We have 4-6 Crores illegals waiting to cripple India.. Why are we lagging behind in getting a upper hand with the immediate neighbours? It just a shame that with all the intellectual brain power, we have not been able to get even our neighbours support...!Security personnels, are without sophisticated arms to safeguard us and themselves. Yet the national boundaries were allowed to be transgressed and mayhem occurred during the reign of the very same Rip Van Winkle government. If there were some other country the government would have been hauled over coals and promptly despatched to its hole. Actually, Bangladesh is not too far behind. Pakistan terrorism used to be directed against its neighbors- in particular against India- but that traveled to USA during 911. 3000 casualties, property destruction and a lot of financial trauma caused USA with allies to occupy Afghanistan and Iraq. But during Bangladesh war, President Richard Nixon sent in US 6th fleet to prevent India from going into Pakistan. Had India straightened out Pakistan at that time, 911 wouldn't have taken place. Unfortunately, US and the world learned only after 911, what a violently evil country Pakistan really is. Almost a million were killed during the partition, 25 million displaced who became refugees. During Bangladesh war, 3 million people were killed, 200,000 women were raped and 10 million became refugees.

He is right in telling us Indians not to go in denail and face terrorism heads on. But he is less convincing in that BJP has a magic wand to solve problems. Just because congress plays vote bank politics sometimes, does not mean we give into dangerous religion based politics of BJP. The fact is during his party BJP rule, massod azhar (now accused in Mumbai case) was freed in exchange of a plane hijack. Also we had Kargil, main accused in parliament case Afzal Guru had been arrested and let off two months before parliament attack. Even after POTA was passed by BJP, we had Akshardam in BJP rule. Yes we need to expose the hotbeds of fanaticism in Pakistan. Modi may well be inncocent, but BJP has not done enough to prove that Gujrat police was not impartial. We need efficient security institutions, but it has not proved that BJP is equiped to better do that than congress. One appreciates his anguish, but need more proof that BJP is r eally better.
