Sushma swipe at Rahul team: Chocolate faces to woo youth

New Delhi: The BJP’s youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), on Monday flaunted Varun Gandhi as a prize catch as it paraded its own Young Turks at a function where senior party leader Sushma Swaraj took a dig at the media for being swayed by the “gore chitte, chikne chupde” (fair, chocolate-faced  ....Read more

wooing the youthBy: august | Thursday , 16 Jul '09 10:35:23 AM Reply | Forward May not be such a bright idea after all. Considering the consumerism generated by 25-55 years olds, disproportionally, that brought the world financial system to its knees. Reformation here after would be require thrift and judicious household spending. That, is an anathema to younger generations. So the purse strings of the nation would be better handled by mature adults.Conservative and frugal.

jayBy: jaihind | Tuesday , 14 Jul '09 15:27:20 PM Reply | Forward the bjp unfortunately has no young people in the part. All are old fartswith a one point agenda.

Why BJP's are not acceptable !By: Naim Naqvi | Tuesday , 14 Jul '09 12:59:16 PM Reply | Forward Politics is one profession where hereditary works at its best. Granted that what Sushma Ji is saying has a point but it is the irony of the scheme of nature. Son's usually take up the professions of their parents because it is the shortest and easiest way to survive and flourish. You can't blame them. In other professions, you need to prove your grit. Take the example of films: Except Sanjay Dutt almost each and every actor-son has flopped including Abhisahek. I have my theory why the BJP's kids don't fare well and come up. Rahul Gandhi was born and brought up in kind and congenial atmosphere and similarly most of the kids of Congress leders. They learn the softer kind of politics - tolerance
Just Gai ka GobarBy: shantam prem | Tuesday , 14 Jul '09 12:17:38 PM Reply | Forward The way BJP's Suhagwanti Madam is saying, i am sure Congress will win next election too.BJP is still not getting the point.
Pathetic responseBy: Rajesh Chary | Tuesday , 14 Jul '09 11:44:36 AM Reply | Forward Sushma Swaraj is pathetic. The Congress took the opportunity to field their youth brigarde and the media lapped it up. BJP had only LK Advani to put forth - so why is she complaining against the media? She should read Arun Shourie's analysis in todays Indian Express - losers blame everybody and everything other than themselves. Is this the best the BJP can come up with? Pathetic. The BJP's USP is "party with a difference" - they should try and find real issues which will make them different; not waste national time on such pathetic finger pointing.
Look who is talkingBy: Mera Bharat Mahan | Tuesday , 14 Jul '09 11:38:35 AM Reply | Forward You could clearly see the frustration after the loss in the election. Well, if the dynasty works, it works what is bad in that. End of the day the country progresses. G8 becomes G14 just because of current govt. policies. Sushma first fix the infighting within the BJP or you will loose the few left in your party. You are just following Cong. success formula and have woken up to recognize the yound turks. No one was supporting Varun other than his mother when he was in jail. Gandhis and Scindia's are rulling because they have talent to do so, or else Varun could have been hero. You could see the Kar sevaks dancing around in Pilbhit not the people who run the BJP. Think before you talk and be carefull you are loosing ground. UP is gone only MP and few other remaining.
IT IS A FAILED PARTYBy: Anand | Tuesday , 14 Jul '09 11:27:36 AM Reply | Forward All these swipes will not alter things. The fact of the matter is that BJP has lost two consecutive elections and this time around the impact is much greater because the Party has slid to its lowest ever tally since 1989 and this is despite a very weak alliance forged by the Congress. The BJP's vote share has come down from 22% to just under 18% which is a drastic fall by any standards. Somehow the Party has lost its moorings and is groping in the dark. Its supporters have now realized that Hindutva is just a trading commodity for the BJP which uses it for its own convenience and discards it with compunction. The bottomline is things and future are not looking too rosy for the Party.
