'Taking RGV, Riteish to terror spot was a mistake'

Mumbai: Admitting that he had been eased out as Chief Minister due to a public outcry after the terror attacks in Mumbai, Vilasrao Deshmukh said taking along his actor son and film maker Ram Gopal Varma with him to visit the scene of the attacks was “a mistake”. He denied that pressure from the Congres  ....Read more

Clea up the system!By: Sana | Friday , 5 Dec '08 19:21:41 PM Reply | Forward Everyone wants to be leaders, no one wants to follow, except for the Italian queen's chamchas. There is no unity among the politicians, all of them form alliances to be in power, that's all. Why have we not been able to see that all these years? Indira Gandhi is dead, and her descendants that are alive have absolutely no vision, are just living on the charity of the Indian people's forgiveness and forgetfulness. Once the backlash for inactivity of retaliation starts then this family has everything to be afraid of, for time has come for Indians to take matters into their own hands and things are not going to be pretty for them and their wimpy cronies. We have to hold the present government accountable for such absolute carelessness of security of our precious country. We also have to have all governments that come to power to be accountable for not taking things forward. There has to be an overhauling of system from grass root level to higher up.
Audacity of puppets!By: Savi | Friday , 5 Dec '08 19:13:18 PM Reply | Forward I am saddened by the fact that there is not one single person in a country of more than a billion people who can think professionally. We have no leader with vision. It is time for us educated people who can think, to be active in public office. We pride ourselves in being educated, but look at the state of affairs in the country, corruption, terrorism, blaming games, bribery, psedosecularism. We are divided where we have to be united, and we are united where we have to have a discussion. We have reports like Bachchan sleeping with a gun under his pillow as headlines, where as the poor are just as scared to sleep, with or without terrorism. We have no value for human life(actually poor man's life). Everyone wants to make money, but nobody wants to work for that. Not one person feels the need to be responsible for keeping the city clean, for fighting injustice. Our whole system is like that. Time is now to create a system that even if an idiot comes to power he won't screw it up.
TAKING RGV and SON MISTAKE By: HA NARAN | Friday , 5 Dec '08 15:24:45 PM Reply | Forward Sir,We Indians drew away the Britishers from India and freed our Beloved country from them. At that time all the LEADERS accused, the foreigners were plundering our priceless national assets. Only after less than 20 years, they themselves, (OUR OWN LEADERS) started looting the national assets, looting the citizens of India. Once elected, they VERY MUCH took it for granted, THEY were the OWNERS and MASTERS of the country. Even VERY TODAY this mentality is LIVE and KICKING in their mind. They surely believe, they can do whatever they like, once elected. And they are using any form of the meanest possible tools for being elected. THIS IS OUR SO CALLED THE LARGEST DEMOCRACY IN THE WORLD !!! May NOT live long THIS shape of democracy, any where in the world.
MISTAKE.By: Vinod | Friday , 5 Dec '08 15:16:36 PM Reply | Forward It was more due to arrogance of these politicians, who have acquired immense wealth and power by corruption that we get such insensitive behaviour. We have leadership that reflect the people who have also become so cynical and are not averse to bending rules for a small gain.
Deshmukh gone, now RGV must be made to apologiseBy: C, Deepa | Friday , 5 Dec '08 14:49:22 PM Reply | Forward It takes this loser almost 10 days to realise his mistake and apologize? Is he mentally challenged? RGV is yet to apologise - he still thinks there is nothing wrong with his ghoulish visit to the "house of terror". Please stand outside theatres for RGV's next release and politely REQUEST PEOPLE NOT TO SEE RGV'S FILM. Part of his income must be going to Dawood/ Pakistan anyway. He needs to be taught a lesson via civil disobedience.CONGRESS ARE THE BIGGEST LOSERS !! That Italian Puppetmaster still can't decide which Puppet to make as CM of Maharashtra!
The Congress does not work, PERIODBy: namba madayangala | Friday , 5 Dec '08 14:02:09 PM Reply | Forward The bum says “The Congress does not work under pressure”.Actually, the Con-gress does not work, PERIOD.
CM RESIGNATIONBy: NANDU.L.KALE | Friday , 5 Dec '08 13:53:45 PM Reply | Forward ALL THEN POLITICANS OF OUR COUNTRY ALLWAYS SAY THAT THEY ARE DICIPLINED SOLDIERS OF THE PARTY AND THEIR UNCONDITIONAL LOYALITY. THEY LOVE THEIR MADAM SO MUCH AS TO PICK UP HER CHAPPAL AND TOUCH HER FEET WHO ALSO MAKES THE CM TO WAIT FOR HOURS TO BE GIVEN THE APPOINMENT. BUT THEY HAVE NO SUCH QUALITIES FOR THE NATION AND ITS PEOPLE
visionBy: Ganesh | Friday , 5 Dec '08 13:39:52 PM Reply | Forward I am a Bangalorean, I am reminded of a kannada saying that goes like'even after falling flat and prostrate on the ground one gets up and claims that still there is no dust on his mush'.THis is the status of congress today. In the aftermath of a terrible tragedy they are still counting on their internal systems and proudly displaying it.This very CM had said in these very columns ,what is wrong in taking his son along. Now he feels it was wrong. We do not dream of leaders like an Abraham Lincoln or a Winston churchill who had visions of centuries ahead of them. Those countries are now reaping the benefits having had such leaders.Atleast the voters must think of a leader who has a vision of atleast three days at best.
CMs MistakeBy: Dr. Paras Deo | Friday , 5 Dec '08 13:10:55 PM Reply | Forward It was not only a mistake it was simply dumb. The inquisitive son and the sensation licking Bollywood has no business to go to the terror site. The problem in India can be seen all over. The bigwigs politicians behave like emperors and forget their core duties. I remember stand in queue for a train ticket at the CST Mumbai when one jumped the line saying he is from the CM's office and wanted to served first. An argument ensued and only when the junta joined in , did the man withdraw.
