The Rahul Gandhi Gamble

During the first general election of 1952, a candidate of the Rama Rajya Parishad who was standing against Pandit Nehru asked him asked him why he did not support a ban on cow slaughter. “Don’t you love cows?” he asked. Nehru replied with his British sense of humour, “I love horses too.” That w  ....Read more

Meghanand DesaiBy: Vaid S C K | Wednesday , 26 Aug '09 16:29:18 PM Reply | Forward We often make a mistake in judging indian who is conferred high status by British. This is generally an old game plan of British to make some one of other nationality hero when they find their interest being served. Meghanand Desai may be placed in that category. We have many such personalities which I do not wish to discuss here. Partially it is agreed that Hindus are not under one religion and are governed by most liberal thoughts, they do not show unity when subjected to stress. But, efforts to denigrade Lord Rama is distressing and show his western mind.
Diamons of Congres Party Mr.Rahul GandhiBy: Jitendra Singh Naruka | Monday , 10 Aug '09 12:13:30 PM Reply | Forward Rahul Gandhi ia a Diomond of Congress PartyRahul Gandhi is Young Leader
Mr Desai seems completely out of touch with Indian Politics!By: AKV | Friday , 8 May '09 10:32:32 AM Reply | Forward Mr Desai's analysis shows he's completely out of touch with what is happening in India. That he should attempt a political analysis of the ongoing elections, with Indian Express as the vehicle is beyond me.
Contempt by meghnad and Indian ExpressBy: Manoj | Tuesday , 28 Apr '09 1:36:02 AM Reply | Forward They way meghnad has refered ram is clearly a contempt and Indian Express should have some proper editor to screen such Articles.Without powerful ladies like shabri , tara ,Mandodri, kai kai who played powerful role in gove and warfare. it is pretty wrong. Also about dalit he should check the character of nishad raj and shabri. Ram started a trend to bring Ram Rajya from last man in the kingdom.
Changing Strategy of CongressBy: Prasenjit Das | Sunday , 26 Apr '09 12:35:15 PM Reply | Forward Prof. Desai has rightly chalked out the gradual change of Congressional(i.e.Nehru-'Ghandy')politics. If we put further, BJP should change its radical(Hindutva)stand, like backing us pugnecious speech of Varun 'Ghandy'. BJP holds a good image over a good portion of Indian youth. As we can see near about 10 IIM graduates have joined politics in India in recent years, out of 7/8 joined BJP.BJP's foreign policy is really appreciated. But case like Gujrat carnage is harming it's image in Indian youth. In the same way Left seems to have a good political future in India if and only if it becomes pragmatic(e.g. West Bengal CM Buddhadev Bhattacharya's stand) and stop acting dogmatic. It can learn a lot from it's Chinese counterpart what is called communalisation of Capitalism, i.e. Communo-Capitalism(Commune all with Capitalism). If they take this way, they can encase anti-Congress and anti-BJP sentiments and gain popularity in Indian politics.
Meghnad Desai-Religious Bigot and narrow minded BritisherBy: ram | Thursday , 23 Apr '09 8:19:09 AM Reply | Forward Mr.Desai, Who gives you the right to project yourself as scholar of Hinduism? If you have read Ramayana but not understood the fault lies with you solely and not the great epic. All the tales alluded to Ramayana are fraud stories cultivated by racial bigots and frauds like ex colonial british rulers of Hindustan. The british have rapaciously looted and pillaged India and other Asian nations pf treasures and resources. So first correct your sense of history and undo the wrongs of past 500 years first and do not teach us.
Meghnad Desai - Religious BigotBy: Dr.Ajay Kumar | Monday , 27 Apr '09 0:45:19 AM Reply | Forward As you say, British pillage treasures from India. It seems they pillged brains of Indians too to leave their IQ in double digits. Otherwise, Ram won't make such uninformed , unqualified comments which is a personal attack. No, Brits did not pillged India to push it in poverty. India lost out to industrial revolution. While Europe was assimilating scitific persuit, Indians were composing Urdu poems as a second class citizens to their Muslim rulers.
Read history before you make a statement denying pillageBy: S.R. | Monday , 21 Sep '09 11:19:50 AM Reply | Forward Mr. Ajay, pillage is undeniable. There are thousands of references, but for you only the following will suffice. Excerpt from Dada Bhai Naoroji's 1971 speech in house of commons -"...the political drain, up to this time, from India to England, of above ,500,000,000, at the lowest computation, in principal alone, which with interest would be some thousands of millions. The further continuation of this drain at the rate, at present, of above ,12,000,000 per annum, with a tendency to increase."All figures are in Pounds. There are resources on internet that you can use to compute the current day equivalent, and comes around GBP 4.5trillion. To add, the estimate is only the money taken as tribute and other political means. Trading and bonded labor numbers are not accounted for. Also, this is 'conservative' estimate.
Lord Desai the Labor Party MPBy: K.C.Sharma | Wednesday , 22 Apr '09 16:18:19 PM Reply | Forward One expected an objective and impartial view of Indian politics from Lord Desai sitting in UK.But once a leftist always a leftist! And look what dear Manmohan said of the leftists the other day! Need one say anything more?
Thy Name is Devil By: Rohit | Wednesday , 22 Apr '09 14:21:34 PM Reply | Forward Meghnad was of son of Ravan. Meghnad seems to revel in the fact that he still can destroy Shri Ram or Ram Rajya. He tends to forget that in any war Ravan, Meghnad will always fall to dust.
British mumbo jumboBy: oldindian | Monday , 6 Apr '09 12:06:02 PM Reply | Forward Lord megnath is turning out to be our charles krauthammer. Always full of horseshit and worse he thinks he knows india and Ram better than mahatma gandhi. This chap is so british, does not know anything but writes anything with authority of knowall. Congress support crumbled away because of lack of internal party discipline and democracy and over riding of local leadership by Ms indira that led to gradual disillusionment of its footsoldiers with the party. Lack of local leadership gave raise to the current set of jokers who peddle for vote in the name of secularism and caste-equations. By the way my lord we are still awaiting your excellency to go down your knees and beseech your majesty's government for waiver of immigration tax- the way you did it for your lordship.
The Rahul Gandhi GambleBy: Babli | Monday , 6 Apr '09 9:59:48 AM Reply | Forward Lord Desai has got mixed up - there was/ is no "South Indian" movement against Brahmins - and that is just an example! South India is composed a several states and each has its own traditions and practices! Similar is the case with the North. Therefore, there is a difference between versions of the Ramayana - not artificial differences between North and South India on this subject.
