The worst-dressed Indian team?

Colombo: Kumar Sangakkara looked especially sharp in a black suit, and his team mates didn't lag far, all of them dressed immaculately as they went to meet the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse. Then, in stark contrast, were the Indians. Established, popular faces of world cricket were in their off  ....Read more

Have the courage to admit your mistakes. Dhoni and CoBy: Anthony Joseph | Monday , 9 Feb '09 12:33:30 PM Reply | Forward I guess one should ask the Indian team, whether they would go to meet our President or Prime Minister in casual clothes. I don't think they would, I have always seem them in formal wear whenever such occassion happens. While one cannot change what has happened, the team should take the courage to admit their lapse and apologise to the Srilankan President.
Dwonfall of cricketBy: evey sharma | Sunday , 8 Feb '09 20:10:36 PM Reply | Forward I think writer G S vivek is memebr of Ram sena. So wht happen if they go in T shirts. So what If countrys Image on satke who care. Some people will justify that team is winning, I want to make it clear Team is not winning but its IPL is winning. Dhonies punter know that their performance will help to earn good money in thier Auction.I can bet that cricket is on its peak and soon we will see downtrend. In recent test series between England and India spectetoters apeared only in Hunderds, and there was no mad rush for one dayers except at Kanpur. Soon Criket condition will be like Hockey.

The worst-dressed Indian Team ?By: .venkatesan | Saturday , 7 Feb '09 15:06:00 PM Reply | Forward Nothing very surprising when the whole conuntry's ethos is fully embedded on ' Chalta Hai' culture. It is indeed a very poor impressin they have created. It is just a continuation of what happenned at Beijing Olympics' march-past.Only the teams are different.Let us learn something from our armed forces.
Appologies immediatelyBy: Girish D. | Saturday , 7 Feb '09 11:07:58 AM Reply | Forward It is high time the team and the management tender an unconditional appology to the Shri Lanka's President and to his nation and also to our country for the discourtesy shown to the President of a visiting country. It is and insult of the visiting Country through courtesy of that visitng Country.
RelaxBy: Shirish | Saturday , 7 Feb '09 10:09:56 AM Reply | Forward C'mon guys, dont make mountain out of a mole. Players have a right to unwind after a tough grind. True, official wear is a done thing but if it has happened, no need to blow it out of proportions. And lets not talk about what Saurav's team would have done! We had the sight of Greg Chappell and the administrative manager in formals ready to board a flight, when Saurav rushed in at the last minute in casuals! The trend today is in being a "cool dude" and winning is everything. Too bad if somebody like GS Vivek doesnt like it. No problem guys, carry on. Official T-shirts are fine. These media guys have to keep nit picking for no rhyme or reason. They should take a chill pill!
Unwind my a**By: APS | Monday , 9 Feb '09 4:35:45 AM Reply | Forward "Players have a right to unwind after a tough grind?" Are you kidding me? If they want to, they are free to do it on their own time. When one represents the country, one has to abide by socially acceptable protocol. Rightly mentioned that had this happened in India, the press would have made a hue and cry and rightly so. It is hardly a mountain out of a molehill. I couldn't care what Ganguly may have done to board a flight. A flight is VERY different from meeting the head of a state. Winning is not everything, dignity is everything. Have a look at the Australian team that will stoop to any levels to win. There is no sportsmanship. Mr. Vivek, great article and aptly pointed out.
