This will mean that the OS will continue to evolve over the next year due to competition. This will also mean that the applications running on computers will be more diverse than today and also mobile devices running on the same OS (Android) will work more seamlessly together. It is really interesting how Google decided to start with the mobile devices and then plans move on to the desktops (which is a high competition area) after proving itself on other devices where the competition is limited. We can expect more innovative and practical applications unifying various devices.
