MODERNISATION AND CIVIC SENSEBy: NIRANJAN | Sunday , 5 Jul '09 18:09:02 PM Reply | Forward NO AMOUNT OF THE MODERNISATION IS GOING TO WORK BECAUSE OF A VERY BASIC LACK OF CIVIC SENSE. IT IS ALSO TRUE THAT MANY EDUCATED PEOPLE TOO LACK CIVIC SENSE. WHILE WE SEE TRASH STREWN ON PUBLIC PLACES, WE RARELY SEE A PERSON PUTTING IT IN THE TRASH CAN, IF THERE IS ONE NEARBY. WE INDIANS CONSIDER ANYPLACE OUTSIDE OUR HOME AS A TRASH CAN. IN ADDITION THE POPULATION EXPLOSION NEGATES ALL THE IMPROVEMENT AND MODERNISATION. USUALLY ALL FACILITES ARE MADE FOR TODAY'S TRAFFIC. UNFOTUNATELY TRAFFIC GROWS SO FAST THAT THE FACILITY BECOMES OBSOLETE IN NO TIME. PLAANING IS SO POOR THAT WE CANNOT EVEN CALL PLANNING ANYMORE.

Don't have to imagine -- visit the sham called Calcutta Airport.
