Mamata Banerjee's Railway MinistryBy: Suresh Panje | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 15:58:47 PM Reply | Forward Mysore state (now Karnataka) had three Railway Ministers - C M Poonacha, Kengal Hanumantiah, T A Pai and C K Jaffer Sherif. None of them undertook any gigantic railway related projects but for the Bangalore-Salem and Hasan-Mangalore rail links. Of course, there was the Wheel Axle plant at Yelhanka. Other than these, these ministers did not behave a-la Mamata Banerjee and Ghani Khan Chowdhury or Jagjivan Ram, L N Mishra, Kedar Pandey, Ramvilas Paswan and Nitish Kumar, rendering step motherly treatment for states other than their own. George Fernandes, a Mangalorean, was also a Railway Minister but he represented Bihar. Well, we need ministers with a national outlook and not blinkered views, confined to their own state or region.

DiscriminationBy: Rahul Vats | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 11:54:26 AM Reply | Forward Mamta Has not done good as she only thought of her state of higher priority. The priority should be given to all Indian states without no discrimination. What does she mean by saying "I love Bengal, I love Bangalore". Strict measures are to taken before opening your mouth Mamta Ji as what ever you say can be used against you to prove someting that you dont want.
Discrimination has been made since 1951: Nothing NewBy: G J Shankar Nath | Wednesday , 8 Jul '09 12:27:59 PM Reply | Forward Indian Politicians are making discrimination since 1951 and will continue to make. The best idea is to create a capable minister from your region and then discriminate. As for example the NE region, I belong to and there is not enough progress as we have not been able to send capable minister in the cabinet.
