Why Pakistan won’t give up lashkar

Within hours of the 9/11 attack, Pakistan took a U-turn on its Afghan policy, allied with the United States and became a frontline state in the ‘war on terror’. This sudden policy shift was major: from a close friend and ally, Taliban was now the enemy. The Pakistani government showed no reluct  ....Read more

Pak dbl stdsBy: Ramesh Ahuja | Monday , 8 Dec '08 20:31:11 PM Reply | Forward It is impossible to have dialogues with the Pakistanis. So India should not waste anymore time trying to convince /negotiate with them. Its like talking to a donkey who has never heard the word PEACE.The only language they understand is what the Iraq and Afghan govts understand. We in India used to think that the govt. and military in Pak was crazy but the common man was sensible. But I was shocked to see that most bloggers and the Pak media sing the same tune as that of the Govt./ISI. They keep saying that Pakistan also is the victim of terror. Please do not compare India with Pak.Pak is not a victim, but has provided(still providing) all the support so far and now you crying about it. Your love for terrorists is causing a lot of trouble for us. If the Pakis deny that they dont love their terrorists, why havent they still wiped them out. And if they are incapable, why do they become so hostile when India or US wants to bomb the terror camps?
terroist campsBy: prema | Wednesday , 10 Dec '08 11:03:33 AM Reply | Forward I think it's time India thought about the LTTE camps too
Why Pakistan won’t give up lashkarBy: Tariq Qureshi | Monday , 8 Dec '08 16:03:46 PM Reply | Forward No matter how you view Mumbai, the real reason is Kashmir?Unless Kashmir issue is resolved there can never be peace, no matter how many 'externally' supported presidents and PM's are proped in Pakistan. You cannot go against people wishes. Let there be UN chartered pabelicite in Kashmir, and the truth will be acceptable to both India and Pakistan. Let us not keep brushing the problem under the carpet. Remember Kashmir is not about land, its also about Water that Pakistan needs for its rivers. We are all discussing what happans today, the answer is in solving 60 years old Kashmir problem.
Why Pakistan won't give up...By: Dr.Ajay Kumar | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 17:47:06 PM Reply | Forward Situaton in Pakistan is different. There is a democratically elected civilian government in office, but not in power. It has no authority. True authority lies with the Army Chief but he lacks legitimacy. Renegade elements in ISI take no order from anyone and act on their own in compicity with terrorist organisations. Then there are retired army and ISI chiefs who run ther own fiefdoms. No one will be handed over to India because if it is done so, they will sing and spill thebeans. The names they will spill will implicate people at the top. Who in the right frame of mind in Pakistan would want to do that ? Today Zardari , the same Mr 10 percent, wants proof that the terrorists are really Pakistani. Tomorrow he might want proof that Bombay massacre really happened, and not imagined to defame Pakistan. So stop demanding something that Pakistanis would not fulfill. India should take a leaf from Israel's Mossad. Send assissination squads to take out these vermins we want extradited.
war on pakistanBy: Gauri Ghatnekar | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 14:30:19 PM Reply | Forward dear editor how is it permissible internationally that pakistan chooses not to give up lashkar? how can a mighty superpower like the us standby and decide that pakistan can choose its attachments of terror? and decide not to leave them free even for an instant? i fully support john mc cain when he sez that india should launch air strikes deep into pakistan. and rid the world of a neighbour that is so aggressive and so terror supporting. pakistan has not only frightened us but has also denied us international space, and a clout with our own people in our own state. it should resign its image as an entity and be branded a terrorist state. fear is not an association we make with pakistan rather it is so with india. why is this so? the first time one commits a mistake it can be forgiven. the second time it looks like it is deliberate. i have read that terrorist training camps supply tablets of cyanide to its jehadis. we are absolute guinea pigs for their constipated plans.
Why Pakistan won't give up LashkarBy: romesh.sharma | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 12:23:11 PM Reply | Forward The truth behind 9/11 is the whole operation was planned and executed with full support of ISI and Pak Govt.If US leaves behind its strategical interests in that region and sincerely investigate the attack it will all lead to the same sources. Moreover till then AlQaeda and Taliban were absolutely working together with ISI.Not to forget its through these terror groups Pakistan is making/profitting huge sums of money and keeping itself in the world media which pays too.
Simply Amazing....By: Jatin Patel | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 10:30:02 AM Reply | Forward How great? Amazing!!! OMG...Hindus must learn all this to outsmart these people, since no government is going to defend them. If sick-u-liars are kicked out of parliament, religious-liars (maut ke saudagar) will occupy power and start secular pakistani relationsips to convert LoC to IB without punitive action for Kargil and fooling Indians by "India shinning".
Why Pakistan won't give up LashkarBy: Syed Azmathullah | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 7:09:20 AM Reply | Forward why doesthe world turn a blind eye to the Kashmir problem and why does India not settle the Kashmir issue amicably once for all; obviously to get mileage and advantage. Taking a plank on the coach of the warriors against "terror" may turn out to be a short tryst, although this brings windfalls in. The feuding ultimately leads to a scenario when serious situations look in the eye.
Expose role of ISI and Pakistani ArmyBy: A.NATARAJAN | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 4:29:51 AM Reply | Forward Pakistan won't be sincere in cracking down the terrist outfits and arresting the dreaded criminals. They are known for their double standards. US always interfere keeping in view their overall interests. If the Government of Pakistan still pleads that their Army and ISI had no role in the Mumbai attacks, it is to be assumed that these organisations are no longer under the control of them, which is a very dangerous thing and US should not hesitate to directly involve themselves in doing the combing up operation in Pakistan to destroy the terrorists camps and catch the dreaded terrorists, wanted in various attacks, as they did in Iraq and Afganisthan.
Lashkar-e-Toiba By: S. Chatterjee | Sunday , 7 Dec '08 1:12:15 AM Reply | Forward This article provides in depth information on the philosophy of many jihadi groups. The eight objectives of jihad published by Lashkar-e-Toiba really leaves no room for compromise and living in peace and harmony with non-muslims and perhaps even with muslims who don't follow Lashkar-e-Toiba brand of Islam. Where does that leave the rest of the world? An endless conflict and bloodshed? There must be an international effort to educate and change this mindset and I think it has to start in India and Pakistan.
