You may believe or not believe him on that count. But, to him he only re-affirms that he will not make hate speeches just as he has not been making such speeches earlier. By the way, can somebody clarify why there had been not even a murmur of protest in and around Pilibhit during the 12 days from 5th March when the controversial speech was made and 17th March when the contents of the CD were telecast?

Surely, the Indian Supremes suck rotten eggs!It is utterly obscene that laws such as NSA, TADA, POTA, MISA, and so on even exist in a Democracy. What a prepostereous overereach of power by the executive and administration. Then to invoke NSA against Varun because the Indian governement and administration (or executive) found Varun's words to be offensive or outrageous equates the Indian government and administration (or executive) on par with Adolph Hitler, Stalin, Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda, Taliban, and other such horrors, who all criminalized and outlawed the writeen and spoken word. Clearly, no written or spoken word, no matter how outrageous or obscene, can be more outrageous or obscene than the law or person, outlawing or criminalzing the said written or spoken word.To worse confound and make it all beyond repair is the utter failure of Indian Judiciary (including the Supreme Court Justices) to provide a speedy trial or redress to a high-profile person like Varun, who is the son of Sanjay Gandhi (a thug, a womanizer and one who wrought havoc and untold harm and misery on Indian people) and who is the grand-son of Indira Gandhi (a huge freedom fighter and former Prime Minister of India), the great grand-son of Jawaharlal Nehru (yet another huge huge freedom fighter and former Prime Minister of India), and the great-great grand-son of Moti Lal Nehru, a huge Indian Patriot and an outstanding Attorney-at-Law. The question then arises what rights to speech, speedy trial, civil liberties, and so on do I, a commoner, have in India, that I shudder to call a democracy!

There are may candidates contesting elections, inclucding on BJP Ticket, who are more dangerous than Varun. No body doubt his victory from Pilibhit irrespective of his speeches. Why he is in the news because he belongs to Nehru Family. Nehru is considered as a torch bearer of secularism and hw stood for secularism non-alighnment and is respected world over for the role he played in international arena. They are may other leaders in BJP which are known for their anti muslim stand and the job should e left for them. Varun should keep the tradition of the Nehru family from whichever party he contest the election.
