Conclusions regarding the Indian situation in the same respect must be based, to be meaningful and valid, only on a representative sample study of women contract workers and men in India, and while interpreting the data, due allowances must be provided for the raditional values which are still ruling higher(indeed in Asia, generally) than in the West. Although fashions and secularist notions of the West continue to assail our traditional values and affect both men and women, sexual harassments of a serious nature are likely to be proportionately less frequent in India. However moral promiscuity, in terms of premarital (and rarely postmarital) behaviour of both sexes, may already be half way near reaching the levels of the same in the West. These are due to the dichotomy of traditional values vs. desire to 'get modern'. The trend is abetted, perhaps unwittingly, by media.

If there is a complaint on higher officer on sexual harrasment, such women were called as mentaly ill health women in India and also the witness for the same will be made. Even if the women commits suside because of sexual harrassment such a death will be converted to death due to mental ill health.
