Corporators indifferent to expulsion
UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
May 11: Six rebel Congress (I) corporators in the Thane Municipal
Corporation (TMC), who were expelled from the party for their anti-party
activities, are totally indifferent to the party's action.
Reacting to their expulsion from the party, they unanimously said that they
had anticipated this action by the party, and added ``the party is losing
all the time and they were never at a loss''.
These corporators were part of the 13-member group that had defected from
the party to form a separate group with independents and other opposition
parties. The party MLC Vasant Dawkhare, who had reportedly engineered the
split, has been issued a show cause notice, which he has to reply within 15
days, party sources said. This year onwards government, in a bid to check
crossing floor had made provisions to attach the certificates of
elected corporators and to retain it with the divisional commissioners for
any action.
