MUMBAI, May 12: Royal Caterers entered the semifinals of the Air-India Trophy MDFA football tournament beating Central Railway Mumbai Division (CRMD) on sudden-death penalties at the St Xavier's Ground, Parel, today. Royal Caterers won 8-7 (full-time 1-1) and now await the winners of the Scorpions-Don Bosco Oratory clash. CRMD took an early lead when Tony Das' lofted shot dipped into goal, eluding goalkeeper Prem Sequeira in the 5th minute. But Royal Caterers were back on level terms four minutes later when Vineet Naronha equalised, capitalising on a misjudgement by defenders Dinesh Khonajia and Anthony D'Souza. Baria strikes State Bank of India beat Bombay Muslims 1-0 in the Senior WIFA football league at the Cooperage, today. A 69th minute goal by Hashmukh Baria proved all important. Excise prevail Central Excise beat Western Naval Command 15-9, 15-9 in the Mumbai Police Cup volleyball tournament at the Niagaum Police Ground, today. All-Parsees got the better of Mumbai Police `B' 15-8, 15-7 while CMC (Bhiwandi) beat CBI 15-5, 15-10. Powerlifting Championship THE 2nd Senior Men's and Women's Powerlifting Championship and the 2nd Open Bench Press Championship will be organised by the Amateur Powerlifting Association Suburban Mumbai (APASM) at the Keshav Gore Smarak Trust, Goregaon, on June 8.
