May 22: Writer and poet Malini Bhasin has received the National Award for her book Rishte Bikhar Na Jaye for the year 1996-97 from the government of India.

The Central Hindi Directorate of the Ministry of Human Resource Development has given her this award for her contributions as a non-Hindi speaking author writing in Hindi.

She also received a cash award of Rs 2500 in cash, a certificate and a shawl.
