May 22: Five more persons were arrested here today in connection with the Rs 1,225-crore Dadar Janata Sahakari Bank fraud.

They are: vice-president, Balasaheb Thakur, directors Madhavrao Wagh, Bapusaheb Phadtare, Tukaram Udar and branch manager Dayanand Mhatre. Its president, Shivaji More, and director Eknath Bandal, who is also a Congress man, are absconding. All five have been remanded in police custody till May 26. The four who were arrested yesterday were also remanded in police custody till May 26. They are Narayan Bhoite, Chandrakant Jagtap, Jaysingh Patil, and Mahadeo Wadkar.
