Crimewatch -- Autorickshaw stolen
Autorickshaw stolen * Two men robbed an autorickshaw driver after giving him intoxicants last evening. The police said two men hired 23-year-old Madhav Sakoskar's rickshaw from Pen to go to Panvel bus stand. On the way, the two offered Sakoskar a pedha mixed with some intoxicant. After eating the pedha, the driver lost his consciousness. The duo then took his wrist watch, Rs 600 from his pocket and fled in the rickshaw (MH 06 D 2575). The rickshaw driver later lodged a complaint with the Panvel city police. Chain snatched * A 72-year-old man was robbed of a gold chain worth Rs 20,000 at Vashi this morning. The police said Gurubir Singh was out for a morning walk when two men travelling on a scooter approached him. One of them snatched Singh's gold chain and the two fled before Singh could react to the attack. The Vashi police have filed a case of chain snatching and investigations are on. Crushed to death * A bread-vendor was crushed to death on Wednesday morning at Chembur. The police said an overspeeding truck hit 32-year-old Abdul Hakim Yusuf sheikh on the Eastern Express Highway. His head caught under the rear wheels of the truck and he was killed instantly, the police added. Truck driver Baban Ghadge was arrested by the Chembur police.
