WARANGAL, June 26: The owner of a liquor shop on Mulug road here was seriously injured when he was shot at by two unidentified micreants on Wednesday night. The assailants escaped with Rs 58,000 in cash after assaulting the shop owner. The incident took place around closing time, when the shop owner, after serving the two, who had come to the shop on the pretext of buying drinks, was counting the day's collection. The two, who had started consuming the liquor at the shop, demanded money, and when he refused to oblige, shot him and ran away with the cash. The incident has set off alarm bells among liquor shop owners in the area, as they had got their retail licences ignoring warnings by the banned PWG.
