PUNE, July 9: Unseeded Gaurav Singh Siraj of Uttar Pradesh created a stunning upset accounting for second seeded Abhishek Bakshi of Karnataka in straight games 18-17, 15-2 and entered the pre-quarters of the sub-junior boys singles of the First All India Sushant Chipalkatti Memorial Junior Badminton Championship which got underway at the Western India Enterprise complex here today.

Another unseed Mugdha Bhagwat of Maharashtra also went on to creat a flutter accounting for M Radhika of Andhra Pradesh (11-5, 11-2) with a fair degree of comfort to enter the junior girls singles pre-quarterfinals.Fancied Dhule lad Nisha Dravid was stretched by state mate Saurabh Sarfare 15-13, 11-15, 15-5 in the mini-boys singles.
