July 9: A 15-Year-old girl is battling for life at the KEM hospital after being raped twice by her brothers-in-law in separate incidents.

Reeta (name changed) was first raped in Pune when on vacation by her younger brother-in-law Jaysangrah Bhavani. When she became pregnant, she was threatened that she would be killed if she revealed it to anyone, said police sources.When she returned to her Kalachowki residence, her elder brother-in-law Ashok Latwani raped her when his wife was out.

After this, he forced her to consume poison and hung her by a rope from the ceiling to kill her. Reeta's mother returned in time to rescue her, and rushed her to hospital. The accused have been taken into police custody.
