CHENNAI, July 9: The Central Organ Registry, the country's first, is to be inaugurated shortly at the TN Dr MGR Medical University, here. The centre is a pioneering effort in facilitating easier transplantations and will maintain a list of recipients and available donor organs in the city. The centre is tied up with three private and three government hospitals in the city for this purpose, and will link several hospitals in the State in the future. The software for this centre has been developed by the National Informatics Centre.
