CHENNAI, July 9: Bonded labourers in TN along with over 50 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have urged the TN CM, M Karunanidhi to direct district officials to speed up the release and rehabilitation of over 27,000 bonded labourers across the State. While the bonded labourers who had revealed their tales to NGOs faced severe hardship from their bosses, the plight of the released labourers are not any better as they are unemployed and poor. They have urged the CM for speedy implementation of the rehabilitation programmes.
