Consumer forum directs doctor to pay compensation
CHENNAI, July 9: A consultant surgeon of Malar Hospitals, here, Dr Ravindra Padmanabhan has been directed by the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to pay Rs 2 lakh as compensation along with Rs 2000 towards charges for the suit, to Lakshmi Rajan (40) for 'negligently' removing the childless woman's uterus without prior notice, despite an ultra-sound report that showed no prolapsed or descended uterus.
