Bhupathi-Leach lose in final

LOS ANGELES, July 28: India's Mahesh Bhupathi, pairing with Rick Leach of the United States went down to the top-seeded pair of Sabestian Laureau of Canada and Alex O'Brien of the US 6-7 (2-7), 4-6 In the men's doubles final of the Infiniti Open ATP hardcourt tournament today. The Indo-US duo fought valiantly in the first set before succumbing 2-7 in the tie-breaker. However, the powerful US-Canadian pair of Laureau and O'Brien broke Bhupathi-Leach once in the second set and then went on to hold their serves for the set and match at 6-4.Earlier the fourth-seeded Bhupathi-Leach pair had defeated second-seeded Australian pair of Mark Philippoussis and Patrick Rafter 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 to enter the finals. For the Indian, the French Open mixed doubles champion along with Rika Hiraki of Japan, it was the third men's doubles final of the season after the Gold Flake Open at Chennai and the Prague Open with Leander Paes.
