CHENNAI, July 26: Eight persons paid a fine of Rs 25,000 for killing a spotted deer. On July 21, a group of persons chasing the deer were spotted by a worker in the children's park. The worker rescued the injured animal and left him in a house, promising to return later to take him back. However, the deer was stolen by offenders who intended to have deer meat. They had cut open the animal evn before it had died, said Mita Banerjee, Wildlife Warden.
