Bizbits -- Godrej plans resorts

MUMBAI, August 15: The Godrej group is planning to foray into holiday homes and resorts. The business will be undertaken by a Godrej Soaps subsidiary company, Godrej Properties & Investments Ltd. The firm, however, does not intend to keep possession of these units and the ownership will be offered to interested parties.

Radisson

NEW DELHI: The US-based international chain Radisson Hotels plans to develop a four-star hotel in Jaipur in collaboration with CRS Palace Hotels Ltd. CRS has already signed a marketing-franchise agreement with Radisson for developing a 200-room, four-star hotel project.

Escorts

MUMBAI: Tractor manufacturer, Escorts, has decided not to claim the tender money of Rs 50 lakh given to HMT while bidding for the latter's Pinjore division. The move is a clear indication that the company is keeping its interest alive in acquiring a stake in HMT's tractor division.

BSE defaulter

MUMBAI: The exclusive feature of the Trade Guaranty Fund of the BSE is the setting up of an independent `defaulter committee' which has been empowered to issue guarantees against trades.

FII investment

MUMBAI: Permission for foreign institutional investors to invest in treasury bills is only a matter of time, a senior official of the RBI said on Friday. "There should be no objection to FII investment in T-bills," YV Reddy, deputy governor of the RBI, said in reply to a question. "It's just a question of timing."
