Ex-minister faces arrest for fraud

BANGALORE, Nov 25: The city police are all set to arrest former Minister S Ramesh who is facing charges of cheating a Mumbai businessman to the tune of Rs 50 lakh.The 26 Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Mumbai court had issued an arrest warrant against S Ramesh and his wife Hemalata and directed the police to produce both of them before the court on Nov 25. Both had reportedly taken a loan of Rs 50 lakh from a Mumbai-based Rajashree company and their two cheques for Rs 25 lakh each had bounced. It may be recalled that Ramesh had lodged a complaint with the Sanjaynagar police, stating that he was receiving threatening calls from the Mumbai underworld. Later, an arrest warrant was issued against him and his wife .
