Mumbai Beat -- Shakeel man held for murder of Dabholkar

MUMBAI, November 25: A member of Chhota Shakeel gang was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Jitendra Dabholkar, secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Sena (ABS) on October 4 at Santacruz.

Police sources said Sayed Muzzafar Hussain alias Munna (27) was arrested at Andheri by special squad of additional commissioner of police (north-west) Dr Satyapal Singh. Apart from Dabholkar's murder, Munna is wanted in 10 other criminal cases registered at various police stations of Mumbai and its neighbouring areas.

Police have recovered two foreign revolvers, 38 rounds, two magazines and a mobile phone from Munna.

Audit officers' agitation

All India Association of Audit and Accounts Officers of Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA and AD) will undertake an indefinite strike from December two along with its sister organisations to demand restoration of parity with central secretariat, which they enjoyed earlier.

This was decided at the national executive meeting of their association on November 22 and 23, K Unnikrishnan, president of the association, said.
