Dec 29: Star of Canara and Kanara Brothers entered the final of the Shri Sai Baba football tournament conducted by the Karnataka Football Tournament Committee at the Karnataka Sports Centre, Cross Maidan.In the first semi-final, Star Of Canara beat Vidyadaini Sports Club 4-2. Russel Rozario scored two goals for the winners with Pravin Goveas and Lancer Mendonca netting one each. For Vidyadaini, Anthony and Nigel Mathias brought down the margin.
In the other semi-final match, a fine brace by Rajesh Matkeri saw Kanara Brothers down Karnataka Sports Club (KSC). KSC failed to score any goals.
PJ, Agnel draw
PJ CLUB and Father Agnel drew 1-1 in a Rizvi League Division III league match at St Andrew's High School grounds, Bandra.
Agnel opened through Premanand Salve but after the breather, Lynden Zuzarte equalised.
HOC win
HOC Rasayani defeated Khala Gymkhana C 12-0 in a third division pool A encounter of the Bombay Hockey Association, with M Jawale netting six of those goals including
a hat-trick.
N Baig joined in with three goals, C Naik, U Khude, P Patnaik netted one each against Khalsa playing with only nine players.
