CARE to rate bank loans

MUMBAI, Dec 30: Credit Analysis & Research Ltd (Care) has launched a new rating product to assess term loans. The new product, christened Care Loan Ratings (CLR), is expected to facilitate easier access to institutional finance, particularly for mid-cap and smaller corporates which are not able to raise funds from the capital market, a Care release said on Tuesday.The rating agency has already had an existing productCredit Analysis Rating (CAR)used for credit risk assessment of working capital facilities by banks. The new product is expected to be complimentary to CAR. In April, Credit Rating Information Services of India Ltd (Crisil) and Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency (Icra) launched products for assessing credit risk on bank loans.
