Fr Agnel teach School of Basketball a lession

MUMBAI, December 30: FR AGNEL prevailed 69-42 over School of Basketball after leading 41-24 in the Fr Agnel Open basketball tournament in the youth boys section on their homeground at Vashi, today.Fr Agnel dominated from the start in the tall-scoring encounter and were never in trouble as far as the lead was concerned. Vinoy KB and Dheera, with 16 points each, were the principal marksmen for the winners. Derad, with 14 points shone for School of Basketball.

In the youth girls section, Fatima had things their own way when defeating AVS 36-23 after leading 16-6 at the interval. Dipti Patil, with 13 points, top-scored for Fatima and Gayatri Manolikar, with 10 points, was the main marksman for AVS.In the most thrilling encounter of the evening, Indian Gymkhana just about defeated Fr Agnel A 26-25 after trailing 10-17 at lemon time in the mini girls division. Sweeta Ramamurthy launched the fightback for Indian Gymkhana by scoring 8 points, while Rakhee Jejorkar impressed most for the losers by accounting a similar number of points as Sweeta.

In another mini girls's contest, AVS defeated Fr Agnel B 31-25. Devashree Patwardhan (8) was the main scorer for AVS and Neha (4) provided some resistance for the losers who fought gamely before going down.
