Mamata's LS candidates grieve BJP

AGENCIES
CALCUTTA, December 30: The BJP is aggrieved at Trinamul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee's ``unilateral'' announcement of ten Lok Sabha candidates but said it would not be a deterrant to the proposed poll understanding with her in West Bengal. ``Poll tie-ups between BJP and Trinamool Congress is a certainty'', West Bengal BJP chief Tapan Sikdar said, adding talks between BJP and Ms Banerjee would be held ``shortly''.

``We can't go beyond our time-table and have to finalise our lists by first week of January before BJP's central parliamentary board meets on January 10 and 11 in Delhi'', he told PTI.

The BJP, he said, considered it ``indecent'' on the part of Banerjee to announce 10 candidates ``unilaterally'' yesterday. ``We also did not like Ajit Panja's reference to Sonia Gandhi as the party's leader in its maiden election campaign yesterday''.
