MUMBAI, January 3: An unbeaten 90 runs partnership for the fourth wicket between left-hander Ashish Parulekar (51) and Parag Paigankar (39) helped Catholic Gymkhana to score 141 for three after being 51 for three against Victory in the fourth round of the Police Shield Invitational cricket tournament, sponsored by Jayantilal Khandwala & Sons and Khandwala Securities, at Parsee Gymkhana today.

An unbeaten 66 by Atul Ranade and an innings of 65 by Sunil More helped National to score 253 for three in 45 overs against Bombay Gymkhana.Brief scores - Group A: National 253 for 3 in 45 overs (Sunil More 65, Rajesh Sutar 47, Atul Ranade batting 66, Sulakshan Kulkarni batting 35) vs Bombay Gymkhana; Catholic Gymkhana 141 for 3 in 48 overs (Ashish Parulekar batting 51, Parag Paingankar batting 39) vs Victory.

Group B: Parsee Gymkhana 160 for 9 in 52 overs (Ajit Kolte 57, Mandeep Khurana 39; Dushant Patel 3-10) vs CCI; P J Hindu Gymkhana 142 for 5 in 44 overs (Nitin Surve 37, Ashok Kadam batting 46; Pradeep Kasliwal 4-46) vs Bombay City Police.

Fr Agnel prevail

FR Agnel Gymkhana scored a narrow but thrilling 52-50 victory over Bombay YMCA in the youth boys semi-finals of the first Fr Agnel Open basketball tournament at Vashi, today.

Mini boys (final): Indian Gymkhana 46 (Rohan Kumar 23, Sachin Rao 22) bt Ghatkopar YMCA 40 (Muran 19, Shardul A 15).
