INDORE, January 15: In an stunning upset, Andrew Rueb of US toppled top seed Vadim Kutsenko of Uzbekistan 6-4, 6-1 to storm into the final of the ITF men's Future Tennis Circuit at Yeshwant Club here today.The day saw one more upset when unseeded Todd Meringoff of US posted shocking victory over seed No 2 James Delgado of Britain 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in the other semifinals.
In the Kutsenko-Rueb match, the fifth seeded American, was leading 3-0 with a break in the second game. Kutsenko drew level 3-3 with a break in the fifth game. Rueb broke Kutsenko's serve in the tenth game to win the set 6-4. In the second set Rueb won five games in a row from 1-1 to settle the issue.
In the second semifinals, Meringoff broke Delgado's serve in the opening game. Delgado broke back and won the set by winning Meringoff's fourth and eighth game service games.
In the decider set, Meringoff ran up to a 5-2 lead with breaks in third and seventh game. He then held his serve to win the set and match.
