Ex-bureaucrat to be sworn in as Goa Governor 

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA  
PANAJI, January 15: T R Satish Chandran, a former bureaucrat, will be sworn in as Governor of Goa tomorrow at the Raj Bhavan. Justice M B Shah, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, will administer the oath of office to the Governor.

Tumkur Ramaiya Satish Chandran, the Governor designate, was born in 1929 and educated in Bangalore and London. He holds degrees in physics from Mysore University, electrical technology from Indian Institute of Science and economics from London School of Economics.

He was appointed as chief secretary to the Government of Karnataka in 1983, a position which he held until retirement from service in 1987. Chandran was recalled to duty in June 1996 as principal secretary to the then prime minister H D Deve Gowda. He relinquished office in July 1997.
