Love gone sour?If you thought they were the perfect couple, think again. For the longest time they were held up as love's dream -- enduring pain and separation but still staying together. But now, rumourmongers are saying that things have gone wrong between Sanjay Dutt and his girlfriend, Rhea Pillai. If sources close to the couple are to be believed, then Rhea has moved back to Colaba where she used to live. All this while she was apparently living with her boyfriend. This sure comes as a blow to the goody-goody image that Dutt has been portraying. You know all that stuff about him being kept away from his daughter when he was Mr Clean. But it's sad, really, that love has gone sour on him. This, when he's never done anything to hurt those who love him!
Written off
Then there's Arshad Warsi. He also went to town about his break-up with Maria Goretti -- ensuring that he got a lot of mileage in film magazines. These stars, I tell you, publicise every dilemma in their life and then when it
suits them, cry foul, telling tales of invasion of their privacy to the whole world. But to be fair to Warsi, he has said something about Maria coming over to see his pet while they weren't really talking. It was evident then that the two would be back together and so they are. Well, here's wishing that they stay together, forever. At least then we will not have to write about them, again.
Losing out
If you mention Arshad Warsi, then you have to talk about Chandrachur Singh, in the same breath. The two are always talking about each other in their interviews. They are like Gulshan Grover and Chunky Pandey. The only difference is that they don't pretend to hate each other.
But there is something wrong with Rocky. When Sooraj Barjatya was on the look out for another hero for his film Hum Saath Saath Hain, just about everyone was vying for this male lead. Certain action heroes even spread rumours that they were being considered and that they didn't have dates. But can you believe this:
Chandrachur actually turned it down? Hard to swallow but apparently, the price factor came in the way. Know what this means na? No films for Chandrachur with Subhash Ghai, Yash Chopra or Mani Ratnam unless he starts compromising -- monetarily. For, these big makers give you hits not cash. Anyway, Saif Ali Khan has quickly stepped into his HSSH role. Chandrachur also did Aamir Khan a favour when he turned down Deepa Mehta's Earth. Does Rocky want work or is he in the business for the love of money?
Desperate
Jackie Shroff must thank his stars for patching up with Subhash Ghai. Particularly now when there is all this talk of his film Grahan, running into trouble. The latest is that the Showman has stepped in and is lending a helping hand by making peace between the distributors and the makers. At least, he is trying his best. Meanwhile other efforts are on too. Like the climax of the film is being reshot. Many people believe that audiences will not accept Jackie leaving Manisha
Koirala for Anupama Verma, in the end. So who knows, Jackie may end up going back to Manisha -- to appease viewers.
The God complex
Godfathers are meant to be the best thing that can ever happen to an actress. But sometimes they can have a devastating effect. This boon often becomes the bane of a filmi career.
Remember Sandhya? Well, she did little else in Bollywood than stick to V Shantaram. Today she is remembered only for her link-up with him and not the films she acted in. Priya Rajvansh had immense potential. Either she didn't know this or she didn't care. She even turned down a Raj Kapoor film for Chetan Anand. Then there's Madhuri Dixit, whose secretary Rikku throws more starry tantrums than her. He rubbed Rakesh Roshan the wrong way during the making of Koyla and now they say she's lost out on Hum Saath Saath Hain because of the astronomical price secretaryji quoted. Urmila Matondkar tried to free herself from Ram Gopal Varma's clutches and to teach
her a lesson, he signed Mahima for Satya. That soon had Urmila running back to Ramu. Will Mahima go the same way? We've already had an overdose of these `together appearances' that she and the Showman make.
