Owners `car'ried away by memories of another era

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Jan 25: If Valentine's Day means indulging your beloved, going for long drives, the works, then it's probably just the day for 15 proud owners of vintage cars form Mumbai to drive down to Pune to participate in a classy car rally to be held the next day.

Organised jointly by The Indian Express and the Vintage Car Club of India (VCCI), the vintage car rally will give more than 50 owners of these regal vehicles -- who will later join the Mumbai convoy -- a chance to show off their magnificent obsessions.

With the result that Puneites will be able to feast their eyes on some splendid automobile specimens from an era gone by -- a welcome break from the monotonous assembly-line productions that are rolled out everyday.

Interested participants are requested to contact the Pune branch of the Western India Automobile Association (WIAA) (Tel 631983) located at the Clover Centre in Pune Cantonment.
