NEW DELHI, January 29: The Trinamool Congress admitted for the first time that it has entered into seat-adjustment with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which finalised all its names for the Lok Sabha election as nominations for first and second phases of the poll were scrutinised today.Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress said in spite of ideological differences it was teaming up with the BJP to oust the Marxists in West Bengal.
The Trinamool would take the help of anti-CPI(M) and anti-Congress forces, including the BJP, in 13 constituencies where it had not put up any candidate to fight the Marxists, party chairman Pankaj Banerjee told a news conference in Calcutta.
He said Trinamool was one with the BJP in fighting the CPI-M but added there would no joint electioneering because of ideological differences.
The BJP finalised all 378 names for the battle of the ballots leaving remaining parliamentary seats for its allies. The party today released its final list of 20 candidates, 11 from Gujarat,six from Uttar Pradesh and one each from Andaman, Rajasthan and Orissa.
In another development, senior Congress leader and former Union Minister K C Pant today resigned from the Congress and decided to support the BJP in the election.
