Purohit denies feelers from Congress

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NAGPUR, January 29: Banwarilal Purohit, member of the dissolved Lok Sabha from Nagpur, has denied that he received any feelers from the Congress or sent any from his side for a ticket in the coming elections.

``I have had absolutely no talks with any Congress leader,'' Purohit said, talking to The Indian Express here on Wednesday. He added that he had not even given a thought to joining the Congress or looking for a nomination from the party.

Refusing to react on how the Congress nomination for Vilas Muttemwar would affect the Nagpur poll scene, he said he would take a decision in a few days. ``The decision I will take will bring Nagpur into focus at the national level.'' While admitting that he had been steadily gaining ``a lot of support from various quarters and splinter groups,'' he added that ``the offers I got were not to my liking.''
